Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday met Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in the national capital, where the two leaders discussed issues related to inter-state cooperation, sustainable development, and governance initiatives between the BJP-ruled states. Officials described the meeting as a cordial interaction focused on strengthening collaborative efforts for development.
Sharing details of the meeting on social media platform X, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the discussion covered various dimensions of cooperation aimed at accelerating development in both states. She stated that stronger coordination between Delhi and Chhattisgarh would contribute to the broader national objective of building a “developed India” through shared governance practices and sustainable growth strategies.
Apart from the inter-state discussions, Rekha Gupta also participated in the “Metro Monday” initiative by commuting to the Delhi Secretariat using public transport. The Chief Minister travelled via Delhi Metro and DTC bus services from her residence to her office, continuing a campaign intended to promote fuel conservation, reduce traffic congestion, and encourage environmentally sustainable modes of transportation.

In a statement shared online, Gupta said increasing public participation in metro and bus travel could significantly help reduce pollution and fuel consumption in Delhi. She noted that more residents were gradually adopting public transport for daily commuting and described each shared journey as a small but meaningful contribution towards environmental protection and national development goals.
The “Metro Monday” initiative forms part of the broader “Mera Bharat, Mera Yogdan” campaign launched to encourage responsible fuel usage and greater use of public transport amid concerns over rising fuel prices and urban congestion. The campaign has seen participation from several Delhi government officials and public representatives, including Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta, who also used metro services earlier in the day.
The initiative follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent appeal urging citizens to reduce fuel consumption and adopt sustainable mobility practices such as public transport and electric vehicles. Delhi government officials said continued participation by ministers and senior leaders is expected to strengthen awareness about eco-friendly commuting and encourage wider public involvement in conservation efforts.
