A horrific collision between a trailer truck and a car on the Jaipur-Agra National Highway (NH-21) in Rajasthan’s Dausa district claimed five lives on Friday, August 8, 2025. The victims, returning from an examination in Bassi, Jaipur, included two sisters, leaving the local community in mourning.
The accident occurred near Kailai in the Sikandra police station area when a trailer loaded with iron beams jumped the highway divider and smashed into an oncoming car. Sikandra SHO Ashok Chaudhary reported that the car’s driver, Yadram Meena (36), and passenger Monika Meena (18) died instantly. Three others—Vedika Meena (21), Archana Meena (20), and Mukesh Mahawar (27)—succumbed to injuries en route to SMS Hospital in Jaipur. Monika and Archana Meena were sisters, and Yadram, a coaching institute owner, was escorting the students home to Todabhim.
The impact was catastrophic, with the car mangled beyond recognition. An ambulance transporting the injured was delayed in traffic, potentially worsening outcomes. The trailer driver fled the scene, and police are investigating to locate him.

The bodies have been placed in the Dausa mortuary, awaiting post-mortem before release to families. The incident caused significant traffic disruptions on the highway. Authorities are probing the trailer’s loss of control, with early reports suggesting speeding or a mechanical failure, such as a broken hook, as possible causes.
This tragedy highlights ongoing safety issues on Rajasthan’s highways, where narrow roads, poor maintenance, and reckless driving frequently lead to fatal accidents. Recent posts on X expressed outrage, with @jago_indiajago and @punjabkesari noting the severity of the crash and its impact on the victims’ families. The incident follows other deadly crashes in the region, including a June 2025 accident on the Dausa-Manoharpur Highway that killed a newlywed couple and three others.
