A student of Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati has shared how his academic journey has significantly transformed his personal and professional outlook, highlighting the role of higher education in shaping individual growth. Shafqat Jabbar, currently in his second year pursuing Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, reflected on how his time at the institute has helped him “rewrite” his future.

Jabbar noted that his motivation to prepare for the highly competitive Joint Entrance Examination stemmed from a deep interest in science, mathematics, and computers. This passion eventually led him to secure admission at IIT Guwahati, where he has spent the past two years building both technical expertise and life skills.

According to him, being part of an IIT environment has provided exposure far beyond academics. He said that interactions with peers from diverse backgrounds have contributed significantly to his development, helping him grow not just intellectually but also socially and culturally. The campus experience, he added, has played a key role in shaping his personality.

Jabbar emphasized that one of the most important lessons he has learned during his time at the institute is the value of independence. These experiences, he said, have contributed to a broader perspective and a more disciplined approach toward both studies and life.
