Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated a state-run ‘Telangana Public School’ (TPS) at Arutla in Ranga Reddy district near Hyderabad on Wednesday and announced that similar schools will be established in every Assembly constituency across the state to improve access to quality education.
The Chief Minister said the Telangana Public Schools initiative is aimed at strengthening the government education system and ensuring equal opportunities for students. He emphasized that the future of Telangana depends on classrooms and learning environments, stating that investment in education is central to the state’s long-term development strategy.
During the inauguration of the Arutla TPS, built at a cost of around Rs 15 crore, the Chief Minister inspected various facilities including digital classrooms, laboratories, a library, modern kitchen, and dining hall. He also interacted closely with students, having breakfast with them and participating in sports activities such as football on the school premises.

Officials said that around 1,814 students have already enrolled in the Arutla Telangana Public School, reflecting strong demand for admissions in government institutions. The Chief Minister noted that nearly 27 lakh students are studying in government schools across Telangana and said the government is working to enhance infrastructure and learning standards across all of them.
Revanth Reddy, who also holds the education portfolio, said the state government spends about Rs 27,000 crore annually on education. He highlighted ongoing reforms, including strengthening public schools and introducing initiatives such as ‘Young India Integrated Residential Schools’ and ‘Young India Skills University’ to improve both academic learning and employability.
The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of sports in schools, stating that dedicated programmes are being developed to nurture sporting talent and help students compete at national and international levels, including the Olympics. He further referred to the establishment of a sports training ecosystem through the ‘Young India Sports University’ initiative, aimed at developing future athletes.
