A 15-year-old Class 10 student died after suddenly collapsing while playing a volleyball match with friends in Surinje near Surathkal in Karnataka's Dakshina Kannada district. The incident, which occurred at a local playground, was captured on CCTV and has left residents, classmates and the local community in shock. The student was identified as Likhith Amin, an SSLC (Class 10) student of Government High School in Kote Bollaru, Surinje.
According to police, Likhith was participating in a volleyball game when he suddenly became unwell on the court. CCTV footage shows him serving the ball before moving towards the net to return the opposing team's shot. Moments later, he is seen raising his arms before collapsing to the ground, prompting fellow players and others present at the playground to rush to his aid.
People at the scene immediately shifted the teenager to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite efforts by doctors to revive him, he was declared dead shortly after being brought to the hospital. The sudden nature of the incident has raised concerns among local residents, although authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of death.

Police said the exact reason behind Likhith's death is yet to be determined. Officials stated that the cause will be established only after the post-mortem examination report is received. No further details regarding any pre-existing medical condition have been disclosed by the authorities. The incident has deeply saddened the local community and the student's school, where Likhith was known as an SSLC student. Police are completing the necessary legal formalities and are awaiting the post-mortem findings before drawing any conclusions regarding the circumstances surrounding the teenager's death.
