The Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly unanimously passed a resolution on Tuesday commending Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Armed Forces for the success of Operation Sindoor, a decisive military strike on May 7, 2025, in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians. The operation, which obliterated nine terror hideouts in Pakistan and PoK, was lauded as a testament to India’s resolute anti-terrorism stance.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kedar Kashyap, moving the resolution, praised the Army’s “indomitable courage” and Modi’s “strategic acumen,” stating, “India no longer stays silent; it delivers a crushing response to terrorism.” He thanked Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for their leadership, emphasizing that the operation avenged the religiously motivated Pahalgam killings, which sparked national outrage. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai echoed the sentiment, hailing the operation’s precision and impact.
The resolution passed without Congress participation, as opposition MLAs, led by Charan Das Mahant, walked out, alleging the ruling BJP targeted them during the debate. Mahant told reporters, “We honor our forces’ bravery, but the discussion was manipulated to provoke us.” Despite their boycott, the resolution underscored national unity against terrorism, with Operation Sindoor—named to reflect the grief of the attack’s victims—marking a shift in India’s security doctrine.
