The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) officially announced on Wednesday the launch of a month-long, nationwide campaign titled the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. Scheduled to commence on September 17, 2026, the massive political and social outreach initiative is designed to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s completion of 25 years in public service as the head of an elected government. The foundational month-long campaign is set to run through October 17, blending extensive humanitarian service drives with a comprehensive showcase of the Prime Minister's governance record across every state. 

Addressing a press conference at the party’s national headquarters, BJP National President Nitin Nabin highlighted the deep historical significance of the upcoming timeline. He noted that October 7, 2026, will mark exactly a quarter-century since Mr. Modi was first sworn in as the Chief Minister of Gujarat back in 2001. "Over the last 25 years, he has steadfastly continued his journey of serving the people, seamlessly embracing the mantra of transitioning from public service to the ultimate service of the nation," Nabin stated to the media. 

Reflecting deeply on the Prime Minister's multi-decade political trajectory, Nabin emphasized that Mr. Modi’s evolution from an ordinary, ground-level party worker to the head of the world's largest democracy has been defined by unwavering vision and resolve. The BJP chief credited the Prime Minister's structural economic policies and welfare expansion with successfully steering India from a period of despair and economic fragility into the global spotlight as the world's fastest-growing major economy. He noted that the "Gujarat model" of developmental governance initiated 25 years ago successfully served as the fundamental blueprint for the subsequent transformation of the entire country after 2014.

The expansive month-long initiative will officially kick off on September 17—which also marks PM Modi’s birthday and is annually celebrated by the party as Seva Divas (Day of Service). To coordinate the sheer scale of the operation, the BJP leadership has appointed National General Secretary Vinod Tawde as the national convener of the campaign. Under this framework, dedicated seven-member panels—comprising a state minister, an organizational general secretary, and five senior regional leaders—will be established in every single state to oversee localized deployment. 

The party has outlined a highly diverse roster of events for the duration of the Abhiyan, beginning with nationwide blood donation camps and a symbolic evening lighting of the Ashirwad Ka Diya by welfare scheme beneficiaries on opening day. The itinerary further includes extensive cleanliness drives on October 2 to honor Gandhi Jayanti, youth-led rallies, digital and photo exhibitions mapping the Prime Minister's governance milestones, and special camps to raise awareness about ongoing Central government welfare schemes. The month of service will culminate on October 7 with a grand Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra spanning all district headquarters, sealing the party's core organizational resolution toward realizing a self-reliant Viksit Bharat by 2047.
