The Indian Military Academy in Dehradun witnessed a memorable moment on Saturday as Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi stepped away from protocol to perform push-ups alongside newly commissioned officers. The gesture came after the conclusion of the 157th Passing Out Parade, where 491 officer cadets were formally inducted into the Indian Army.
The Autumn Term 2025 Passing Out Parade was held at the historic Drill Square of the IMA, with General Dwivedi reviewing the parade and congratulating the cadets on completing their rigorous training. A total of 525 cadets were commissioned, including those from the Regular Course, Technical Entry Scheme, Technical Graduate Course, Special Commissioned Officers Course, and the Territorial Army. The batch also included 34 foreign cadets from 14 friendly nations.
In his address, General Dwivedi reminded the young officers that the profession of arms is a calling that demands dedication, discipline, and readiness to make the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. He emphasized the evolving nature of warfare, which now spans military, technological, and societal domains, and urged the cadets to lead with integrity and sound judgement even in uncertain conditions.
