The application window for Round 3 of the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) 2026 is now open, offering students and fresh graduates a chance to gain paid work experience across India. The scheme currently lists over 21,700 internship opportunities, with new roles being added on a rolling basis, allowing candidates to continuously explore and apply. Selected interns will receive a minimum monthly stipend of ₹9,000, along with hands-on exposure to professional work environments.
The PM Internship Scheme spans more than 20 sectors, including IT, healthcare, retail, logistics, manufacturing, and hospitality, and covers all 32 states and Union Territories as well as over 380 districts. This wide geographic and sectoral coverage enables candidates to secure internships close to their preferred locations or explore opportunities in other regions.
The programme is accessible across six qualification levels, making it suitable for a broad range of students and recent graduates. Through structured assignments, interns gain practical experience on live projects, collaborate with teams, and develop industry-relevant skills. The initiative also focuses on enhancing soft skills, confidence, and overall employability, bridging the gap between academic learning and professional requirements.

Upon completion, interns receive a digital, tamper-proof certificate jointly issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) and the participating company. This verified credential can be shared as proof of work experience and contributes to strengthening professional profiles. Past participants, such as Shweta, who interned at Tech Mahindra, have reported both technical skill development and financial independence through the programme.
Beyond skill-building, the PMIS provides significant career benefits, enabling interns to work on live projects, manage responsibilities, and gain real-world exposure to industry standards and practices. The programme is designed to help candidates build professional CVs and prepare for future employment opportunities.
Interested candidates can apply through the official PMIS portal at pminternship.mca.gov.in. Applicants are encouraged to frequently check the platform for new listings, select roles based on their qualifications, and take advantage of the scheme’s structured, paid internship opportunities aimed at fostering career readiness and industry experience across India.
