Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced Tuesday that the recruitment of 16,347 teachers via the District Selection Committee (DSC) examination will kick off in the first week of April.

Speaking at the third collectors’ conference in the state secretariat, Naidu stressed completing the process—including training—by June, aligning with the reopening of schools for the 2025-26 academic year.

“We’ll issue the mega DSC notification in April’s first week,” Naidu declared, urging district collectors to ensure a flawless execution. The ambitious drive aims to bolster education across the state, with postings finalized before the academic calendar begins.

Naidu also hinted at integrating Scheduled Castes (SC) sub-categorization—split into A, B, C, and D groups—into the recruitment, pending feedback from the Centre and other stakeholders on a report by one-man commission Rajiv Ranjan Mishra.

The CM tied the initiative to his 2024 election promise, framing it within a broader vision of welfare, development, and governance. “Eradicating poverty and meeting rising aspirations demand robust welfare programs,” he told collectors, emphasizing their role in delivering these pillars effectively.

With Andhra Pradesh’s education sector poised for a major boost, the April launch marks a critical step toward fulfilling Naidu’s pledge to strengthen the state’s teaching workforce by mid-2025.
