The world of professional wrestling lost an icon today, as Terry Gene Bollea, better known as Hulk Hogan, passed away at 71. According to reports, Hogan suffered a cardiac arrest at his Clearwater, Florida home early Thursday morning. Emergency responders rushed him to a hospital, but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Hogan, a WWE Hall of Famer, was a central figure in transforming wrestling into a global phenomenon during the 1980s and 1990s. His larger-than-life persona, signature red-and-yellow attire, and "Hulkamania" movement captivated millions. Hogan headlined eight WrestleMania events, including his iconic match against Andre the Giant in 1987, and won six WWE championships. Beyond the ring, he starred in films like *Rocky III* and led the reality show *Hogan Knows Best*.
Despite his achievements, Hogan’s legacy was complex, marked by controversies including a 2015 suspension from WWE over racist comments. He was reinstated in 2018 and inducted again in 2020 as part of the nWo. Recently, Hogan launched Real American Freestyle, a wrestling league, and promoted his Real American Beer.
