The United States Department of Defense formally awarded Boeing an $8.6 billion contract on December 30, 2025, to supply Israel with advanced F-15 fighter jets, marking one of the largest single foreign military sales in recent years. The announcement coincided with a bilateral meeting between President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, underscoring the deepening military cooperation between the two allies.
The multi-year agreement encompasses the comprehensive design, development, systems integration, instrumentation, testing, production, and delivery of 25 new F-15IA multi-role aircraft specifically configured for the Israeli Air Force. It includes provisions for an optional purchase of an additional 25 jets, providing Israel with enhanced aerial superiority and strike capabilities in a strategically volatile region.
Principal contract performance will take place at Boeing's facilities in St. Louis, Missouri, with the program projected to conclude by December 31, 2035. The extended timeline accounts for the intricate customization required to incorporate Israeli-specific avionics, weaponry integration, and advanced radar systems into the proven F-15 platform.

Despite sustained domestic protests and calls from pro-Palestinian and anti-war groups to halt military assistance to Israel amid the protracted Gaza conflict, the transaction proceeded unchanged. Such opposition has spanned multiple US administrations, yet arms transfers to Israel—the largest recipient of American military aid—have continued unabated.
This substantial investment reinforces the longstanding strategic partnership between Washington and Tel Aviv, ensuring Israel's qualitative military edge while advancing US defense industry interests through high-value exports.
