A 10-year-old boy's letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighting the absence of a children's park in his hometown has resulted in the approval of a multipurpose sports facility for Bilari in Moradabad district. Mohammad Aidan, a Class 5 student, had written to the Chief Minister in May, expressing disappointment that there was no dedicated space where children could play or spend time during their summer holidays. Within weeks, district officials informed the family that a proposal for a sports facility had been approved for the town.
According to local authorities, the approved project will provide a multipurpose sports complex aimed at creating recreational and sporting opportunities for children and young people in Bilari. Officials said the facility is expected to include infrastructure that can support multiple outdoor activities, addressing the long-standing lack of public recreational spaces in the area. Construction is expected to begin after the sanctioned funds are officially released by the government.
The Bilari civic body confirmed that administrative approval for the project has been granted and that preparations for execution are underway. Municipal officials said work would commence once financial allocations are received, after which the project will move into the implementation phase. No official timeline for completion has yet been announced.

Aidan's letter reportedly described how children in Bilari had no public park or playground where they could safely play, relax or spend their free time. His appeal highlighted the need for better recreational facilities for local residents, particularly during school vacations. The request drew the attention of the district administration, which subsequently examined the issue and moved forward with the proposal for a sports facility.
The development has attracted attention as an example of citizen participation influencing local governance. Officials from the district administration contacted Aidan after the proposal was approved, informing him that action had been taken following his representation. The case has been widely appreciated by local residents, who have long sought improved public infrastructure for children and youth.
Once completed, the multipurpose sports facility is expected to provide Bilari with its first major dedicated recreational space for organised sports and community activities. The project is intended to encourage greater participation in physical activities while offering children and families a safe public venue for recreation. Authorities have stated that further updates on construction will be announced after the required funds are released and work formally begins.
