A key witness in the death case of Twisha Sharma was allegedly assaulted in Bhopal by individuals said to be associates of the victim's husband, as police continue their investigation into allegations of dowry harassment. The incident has raised concerns about witness safety in the high-profile case, which has drawn significant public attention since Sharma was found dead at her in-laws' residence earlier this year.
Neeraj Dubey, who operates a salon near the residence of the accused, claimed that he was attacked on May 30 by a group of men believed to be friends of Sharma's husband, Samarth Singh. According to Dubey, the men confronted him over his role as a witness in the case and attempted to intimidate him into refraining from giving testimony in court. He alleged that the group questioned why he had agreed to become a witness before threatening and assaulting him.
Video footage of the incident has surfaced, showing Dubey attempting to protect himself while being surrounded by several men. Dubey stated that the attackers used abusive language and warned him against cooperating with investigators. When he objected to their actions, he alleged that the confrontation turned violent. The footage is now being examined as part of the investigation into the alleged assault.

Following the incident, Dubey approached the Katara Hills police station and lodged a formal complaint. He has expressed concerns for his safety and appealed to authorities for protection. Police officials have assured him that appropriate action will be taken and that those responsible for the alleged attack will be identified and prosecuted according to law.
Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area to establish the identities of the individuals involved. Authorities have stated that efforts are underway to verify the allegations and gather evidence related to the assault. The development comes as the broader investigation into Twisha Sharma's death continues, with police examining multiple aspects of the case.
Twisha Sharma was found dead at her in-laws' home on April 12. Her family subsequently accused her husband, Samarth Singh, and mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, of subjecting her to dowry-related harassment. Both have been arrested in connection with the case. Recently, police escorted the accused to their residence in Katara Hills to reconstruct the events surrounding the night of Sharma's death as part of the ongoing investigation.
