A shooting incident in downtown Tucson, Arizona, left nine people injured early Sunday morning after a man allegedly opened fire in a busy area, leading to a police response that ended with an officer shooting the suspect. The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, while authorities began investigating what led to the attack and the events that unfolded at the scene. According to the Tucson Police Department, the shooting occurred at around 2 am near Empire Pizza in downtown Tucson.

Officers who were patrolling the area heard multiple gunshots and immediately responded to the location. Police said officers gave the suspect repeated commands before one officer opened fire, striking the individual. The injured suspect was later transported to a hospital for treatment.
