A high-ranking commander of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), known as Yasin alias Abdullah, met a gruesome end when a bomb he was handling detonated during a quadcopter launch attempt in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s volatile Tirah Valley, sources revealed.
The catastrophic explosion occurred in the Khyber district near the Afghanistan border, killing Yasin instantly and injuring two of his associates. Yasin, who had pledged allegiance to the TTP on May 24, was orchestrating militant operations in the restive Tirah region, a known battleground for TTP, Lashkar-e-Islam, and Ansar-ul-Islam.
The incident underscores the dangers in Tirah Valley, where recent months have seen relentless counter-terrorism operations, with Pakistani forces neutralizing 22 militants in the past month alone. The area remains plagued by IED attacks targeting civilians and fierce clashes between rival militant factions.
