US President Donald Trump announced a significant deal with Pakistan to jointly develop the country’s substantial oil reserves. In a Truth Social post, Trump suggested Pakistan could potentially supply oil to India in the future, stating, “We have just concluded a Deal with the Country of Pakistan, whereby Pakistan and the United States will work together on developing their massive Oil Reserves. Who knows, maybe they’ll be selling Oil to India some day!”
This follows Trump’s recent imposition of a 25% tariff on India due to its purchases of Russian military equipment and energy.
The agreement includes selecting an oil company to spearhead the project, with further details pending. Trump highlighted his administration’s active trade negotiations, including talks with South Korea, aimed at reducing the US trade deficit. “A full report will be released at the appropriate time,” he noted.
This collaboration signals a new chapter in US-Pakistan economic relations, with potential implications for regional energy markets.
