A 46-year-old Indian woman lost her life in a fire that broke out in her eighth-floor apartment in Sharjah’s Al Majaz area last Thursday night, according to Gulf News. The blaze, reportedly sparked during a special ritual, was confined to her unit in an 11-storey building. Authorities have not disclosed the woman’s identity, citing only her nationality.
Civil Defence and police swiftly contained the fire after an emergency call, and the woman’s body was sent for an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death. Sharjah Police have launched an investigation to uncover the fire’s origin and check for potential safety violations.
In a separate incident in Sharjah, a 20-year-old Indian woman allegedly killed her one-year-old child before taking her own life in their apartment on Tuesday. Initial findings indicate the woman’s death was a suicide, with visible marks on her neck, according to a doctor at the scene. Her body was sent to a forensic laboratory for further examination.
