Three people lost their lives after a massive fire broke out in a residential building in Delhi’s Tughlaqabad Extension during the early hours of Friday. The blaze triggered a large-scale rescue operation involving the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) and emergency response teams. Authorities confirmed that several occupants were trapped inside the building when the fire erupted, prompting immediate efforts to evacuate residents and contain the flames.
According to officials, the incident occurred at a residential building located in Gali No. 1 near Naya Tara Apartment on Madhyam Marg. The property falls under the jurisdiction of Okhla Fire Station-I. Firefighters rushed to the spot after receiving information about the blaze and began rescue operations amid challenging conditions caused by smoke and intense heat.
The Delhi Fire Service stated that six people were successfully rescued from the building and transported to a nearby hospital with the assistance of the Centralised Accident and Trauma Services (CATS). Emergency personnel worked swiftly to evacuate residents and provide medical assistance to those affected by the incident. The condition of the rescued individuals was not immediately disclosed.
