Araria, Bihar, witnessed a tragic road accident early Friday, resulting in the deaths of two men, including an SSB jawan, leaving their families and local communities in shock. The incident occurred on the Araria-Raniganj main road near the Girhinda showroom.
The deceased were identified as Sudhir Kumar Kushwaha (42), posted with the 52nd Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), and Vicky Kumar Jaiswal (35), whose wife is a teacher at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School, Araria RS. Both had attended a wedding ceremony in Araria RS on Thursday night.
Around 1:45 am, Sudhir was dropping Vicky at the Araria bus stand on his Bullet motorcycle. Travelling at high speed, the bike collided with a police jeep parked along the roadside, causing severe injuries to both riders.

Residents and police personnel immediately rushed the injured to Sadar Hospital, Araria, where doctors declared both men dead following preliminary examinations. The news sparked grief in their hometowns and among community members present at the hospital.
Traffic Police Station In-charge Prem Kumar confirmed that the post-mortem process is underway and further investigations are in progress to determine the exact cause of the accident. Legal procedures are being followed to ensure accountability.
Local residents alleged that overspeeding, poor lighting, and inadequate road signage contributed to the tragedy. They have urged authorities to take immediate corrective measures and implement stronger road safety arrangements to prevent similar fatal incidents in the future.
