In a brazen midday robbery, four masked thieves executed a lightning-fast smash-and-grab at a West Seattle jewelry store, making off with an estimated $2 million in diamonds, Rolex watches, gold, and other luxury items in under 90 seconds. The heist, captured on surveillance cameras, has left the family-owned business reeling and the local community on edge.
The robbers shattered the store’s locked glass door with hammers on Thursday, swiftly targeting six display cases. Among the stolen items were Rolex watches valued at approximately $750,000 and an emerald necklace worth $125,000, according to Seattle police. One suspect brandished bear spray and a Taser, threatening employees, though no injuries were reported.
“We’re pretty shaken as a staff,” said Josh Menashe, vice president of the family-run store, in a phone interview. “We’ll be closed for a while as we recover.” Employees have been cleaning up shattered glass and are conducting a full inventory to assess the total losses.
