Samsung is reportedly expanding development of its next-generation One UI 9 software by initiating internal testing for a broader range of Galaxy smartphones beyond the recently launched Galaxy S26 series. The move indicates that the South Korean technology giant is preparing for a wider rollout of the Android-based update across both flagship and mid-range devices. At present, the Galaxy S26 lineup remains the only series officially included in Samsung's public One UI 9 beta programme.
According to recent reports, Samsung has begun testing One UI 9 on several devices, including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy A56 and the Galaxy Z Fold7. Firmware versions associated with these test builds have reportedly surfaced online, suggesting active development work is underway. The appearance of these internal builds is often viewed as an early indicator that software testing has entered a more advanced phase ahead of public availability.
The Galaxy Z Fold7 is said to be running an internal One UI 9 build carrying firmware version F966USQUACZF3. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A56 and Galaxy S23 have reportedly been spotted with firmware versions A566BXXUBDZFB and S911BXXUAGZF9, respectively. The emergence of these builds suggests Samsung is evaluating software stability and compatibility across different device categories, including premium foldables and mainstream smartphones.

Testing has also reportedly commenced for the entire Galaxy S24 lineup. Firmware versions linked to the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S24 Ultra and Galaxy S24 FE have appeared in internal testing databases, indicating that Samsung intends to extend support to last year's flagship devices. These developments are expected to reassure users that the company remains committed to providing timely software updates across multiple generations of Galaxy smartphones.
The list of devices believed to be undergoing One UI 9 testing continues to grow. Reports indicate that the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy A16 5G, Galaxy A17 5G, Galaxy A37, Galaxy A57 and the yet-to-be-announced Galaxy S26 FE are also part of Samsung's internal testing programme. However, the company has not officially confirmed which devices will be selected for future beta releases beyond the Galaxy S26 family.
Samsung has previously stated that its next generation of foldable smartphones will be among the first devices to ship with One UI 9 pre-installed. The upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra are expected to launch with the new software out of the box. Industry reports suggest these foldable devices could be unveiled at a Samsung event in London on July 22, although the company has yet to officially announce the launch schedule.
