Ryan Fournier, co-founder of Students for Trump, was arrested on May 26 following allegations that he assaulted a woman during an incident at an apartment complex in Washington, DC. According to court documents and police records, the woman alleged that Fournier, who was reportedly intoxicated, struck her in the face after she attempted to wake him.
The incident allegedly occurred shortly after midnight at the Apartments at CityCenter. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene and subsequently took Fournier, 30, into custody. He has been charged with misdemeanor simple assault and attempted threats to inflict bodily harm. Authorities said the investigation was based on statements from the alleged victim and witnesses present at the location.
According to an affidavit cited in media reports, the woman told investigators that she and Fournier had been in a relationship for approximately two months. Witnesses alleged that Fournier made a series of threatening remarks during the confrontation, including statements suggesting violence toward those present. A roommate who witnessed portions of the incident reportedly corroborated claims that the woman appeared to have been struck.

Fournier rose to prominence after founding Students for Trump while attending Campbell University. He later became executive director of Radical Alert, a group that says it monitors political violence and extremist activity. He has also received recognition in conservative political circles, including appearances on media and activist platforms.
The latest allegations are not Fournier's first legal challenge. In 2023, he was arrested in a separate case involving allegations that he struck a former girlfriend with a firearm. However, prosecutors later dismissed those charges. The previous case has nevertheless drawn renewed attention following the current arrest.
Fournier has pleaded not guilty to the latest charges, and a court hearing is scheduled for July 7. His attorney has not publicly commented on the allegations. As the legal proceedings move forward, authorities are expected to present evidence and witness testimony while the court determines the merits of the case.
