Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was injured in a car crash in New Hampshire on Saturday night while riding as a passenger in a rented Ford Bronco. According to spokesperson Ted Goodman, a 19-year-old woman driving a Honda HR-V rear-ended their vehicle, causing both cars to hit the highway median and suffer significant damage.
Giuliani, 81, sustained a fractured thoracic vertebra, multiple lacerations, contusions, and injuries to his left arm and lower leg. He was taken to a nearby trauma center and is recovering well, according to Michael Ragusa, his head of security, in a statement posted on X. Goodman and the young driver also received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
New Hampshire State Police, who observed the crash, are investigating but have not issued charges. The incident occurred shortly after Giuliani assisted a woman reporting a domestic violence incident on Interstate 93, though police confirmed the crash was unrelated.
