Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha on Wednesday highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 25 years as head of government and referred to his "Hum karke rahenge" message while outlining the priorities associated with the next phase of governance. Chadha's remarks came as Modi marked 25 years since he first took charge as Gujarat Chief Minister on October 7, 2001.
Speaking at the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha in Delhi, Modi renewed his stated commitment to building a Viksit Bharat by 2047. He outlined goals including making India one of the world's top three economies, strengthening self-reliance and manufacturing, expanding work in semiconductors, artificial intelligence and space, improving energy security and creating greater opportunities for young people.
Chadha described "Hum karke rahenge", meaning "We will do it", as a concise expression of the Prime Minister's stated determination for the next phase. He also referred to the significance of Modi's uninterrupted tenure at the head of government, saying that expectations increase when people continue to renew a political mandate over many years.

Modi, while reflecting on the milestone, said his 25 years in public service were not a matter of personal glorification. He credited the people and party workers for the journey and described the accumulated experience and public trust as an asset belonging to the nation. He also recalled his early years in Vadnagar and said he continued to regard himself as a lifelong student.
Looking ahead, the Prime Minister linked the next phase of his public service to the goal of a developed India by 2047. Among the ambitions he outlined were creating a global manufacturing hub, advancing India's capabilities in technology and space, hosting the Olympics and strengthening the country's self-reliance. His "We will do it" message was presented as a call to renew the national resolve rather than simply commemorate the 25-year milestone.
Chadha's remarks came amid wider political and public attention around Modi's 25 years as head of government. The milestone marks a continuous period that began with his appointment as Gujarat Chief Minister in 2001 and continued after he became Prime Minister in 2014. The anniversary has been used to reflect on his political journey while also setting out the government's stated priorities for the years ahead.
