Qatar has made it clear that it is willing to pursue diplomatic talks with Iran only if Iran stops its ongoing missile and drone attacks on Gulf countries. The Qatari government sees the current situation as one requiring a strong, principled stance focused on defense and security, rather than negotiation.
The Qatari foreign ministry stressed that any attempt at dialogue while attacks continue would be premature. The attacks have heightened regional tensions, disrupted trade routes, and risked civilian and energy infrastructure, particularly around strategic locations like the Strait of Hormuz.
