The Pune Rural Police on Sunday took accused Siya Goyal, who is alleged to have conspired in the killing of her fiancée Ketan Agarwal along with her boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary, to Lohagad Fort to recreate the sequence of events leading to the June 18 murder. The exercise forms a key part of the ongoing investigation into what police describe as a premeditated crime.
According to police officials, the reconstruction was conducted at the same location where the alleged incident took place, with investigators attempting to map out the exact movements of the accused and the victim. The objective was to understand how the trio reached the fort, how the victim was positioned, and how the events unfolded leading up to the killing. Officers said the exercise helped them verify statements previously recorded during interrogation.
A police official involved in the probe said that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary had meticulously planned the incident and had earlier visited Lohagad Fort to identify a suitable and secluded spot for the alleged crime. During questioning, both accused reportedly admitted that the location was chosen after multiple visits to assess the terrain and find an area that would avoid public attention.

Investigators also pointed to specific behavioural details emerging from the reconstruction, including what they described as a “sitting down signal” allegedly used during the sequence of events. Police are also examining references to “safety” mentioned in the context of the accused’s movements, which they believe may be relevant to understanding coordination and timing during the incident. These aspects are being analysed alongside digital and forensic evidence.
Officials said the recreation helped them better understand the layout of Lohagad Fort and possible movement routes used before and after the alleged crime. It also provided clarity on how the accused may have approached the secluded spot and whether the victim was knowingly or unknowingly led to the location. Police added that the exercise will assist in corroborating technical evidence and witness statements gathered during the investigation.
The case, involving the alleged murder of Ketan Agarwal by his fiancée Siya Goyal with the help of Chetan Chaudhary, has drawn attention due to its reported level of planning and the involvement of multiple accused. Police said further interrogation is underway, and additional forensic analysis will be crucial in establishing the complete sequence of events and determining the exact roles played by each individual in the crime.
