Allies of Ukraine are set to gather in Paris on Monday for a high-level summit aimed at reaffirming support for Kyiv and increasing diplomatic pressure on Russia amid the ongoing war. The meeting will bring together Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and leaders from countries supporting Ukraine as they discuss efforts to push for a ceasefire and revive peace negotiations.
According to the French presidency, the summit of the Coalition of the Willing will focus on strengthening international backing for Ukraine and coordinating future measures to support the country. The coalition was launched by France and the United Kingdom following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, with the objective of providing military and political assistance to Kyiv. The meeting is expected to highlight continued cooperation among Ukraine's partners as the conflict continues.
At least 25 heads of state are expected to attend the gathering, which comes a day before France's national public holiday, Bastille Day. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and several other participating leaders are also scheduled to remain in Paris for the annual military parade on the Champs-Elysees on July 14. The parade is expected to feature displays of solidarity with Ukraine as European allies continue to signal their commitment to supporting Kyiv.

The Elysee Palace described the summit as taking place at a significant moment of renewed cooperation between European nations and their transatlantic partners. French officials said the meeting reflects growing unity among Ukraine's supporters while also pointing to what they described as more favourable developments for Kyiv on the battlefield. However, the conflict remains unresolved, with fighting continuing across several regions of Ukraine.
The Paris discussions are expected to focus on diplomatic strategies, military assistance and possible steps towards achieving a ceasefire. Ukraine's allies have repeatedly called for a negotiated settlement that respects Kyiv's sovereignty and territorial integrity, while Russia has maintained its own demands regarding the conflict. Previous diplomatic efforts have failed to produce a lasting agreement, leaving international partners seeking new approaches to bring the war closer to an end.
The summit comes as Western nations continue balancing military support for Ukraine with efforts to find a path towards peace. Leaders attending the meeting are expected to assess the current situation and discuss how coordinated action can strengthen Ukraine's position in future negotiations. While no immediate breakthrough is guaranteed, the gathering represents another attempt by Kyiv's allies to demonstrate unity and maintain pressure on Moscow amid the prolonged conflict.
The outcome of the Paris meeting will be closely watched by governments and observers worldwide, particularly for any indications of new diplomatic initiatives or changes in international support for Ukraine. With the war entering another critical phase, the summit highlights the continued role of global alliances in shaping the future course of the conflict.
