Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demolished opposition claims that Israel’s international standing has collapsed after two years of war with Hamas. Speaking during the compulsory 40-signature debate that forces the prime minister to face parliament monthly, Netanyahu proclaimed Israel the undisputed military, economic and diplomatic superpower of the Middle East and a rising global force in multiple domains. He branded the opposition narrative of isolation as completely detached from reality and insisted the exact opposite is happening as world leaders actively pursue Jerusalem.
Netanyahu showcased his frequent phone calls with close friend Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and revealed the two have already scheduled a bilateral summit in the coming weeks. Highlighting India’s population of one and a half billion people, he stressed New Delhi’s determination to expand cooperation in defence, counter-terrorism, cybersecurity, agriculture and cutting-edge technology. Ties with India have grown dramatically stronger since the October 7, 2023 Hamas massacre, placing the partnership among Israel’s most valuable strategic assets.
The prime minister then delivered a devastating blow to domestic detractors by announcing his upcoming Washington trip for a sixth face-to-face meeting with President Donald Trump since January 2025, more than any other world leader. He mocked recurring media reports of alleged clashes with Trump as a tired ritual that always ends in disappointment for the pessimists when tangible successes emerge. Simultaneously, Netanyahu underscored his decades-long personal channel with Russian President Vladimir Putin, crediting direct dialogue with protecting vital Israeli security interests against Iranian encroachment in Syria.

Further evidence of Israel’s diplomatic resilience came in the form of this week’s Jerusalem visit by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, arranged at Berlin’s explicit initiative. Netanyahu listed expanding relationships across the Middle East, Far East, Latin America and Africa, declaring that countries on every continent now seek closer alignment with Jerusalem despite the ultimate rebuttal to opposition cries of global abandonment.
Facing relentless demands for his resignation over the October 7 intelligence failures and the subsequent Gaza campaign, renamed the War of Revival, Netanyahu defended his record and announced a new governmental inquiry with equal coalition and opposition representation. He accused critics of fearing genuine scrutiny while pledging to allocate an unprecedented 2.35 billion shekels to combat surging global antisemitism, vowing Israel will fight propaganda with innovative methods and unyielding resolve.
