U.S. President Donald Trump has accused Iran of carrying out a deadly bombing at an elementary school in the southern Iranian city of Minab, an attack that reportedly killed at least 165 people and intensified tensions amid the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
Speaking to reporters at Dover Air Force Base on Saturday, Trump rejected suggestions that the United States may have been responsible for the strike. When asked directly whether U.S. forces had bombed the school, the president said the attack was carried out by Iran itself. He did not provide additional evidence to support the claim.
The president also addressed broader regional dynamics, stating that there was no indication that Russia was actively assisting Tehran in the conflict. Trump added that he did not want Kurdish forces to enter Iran, an apparent reference to Kurdish militant or paramilitary groups operating across parts of the Middle East.

Trump further said the United States ultimately wants a change in Iran’s leadership, saying Washington hopes to see “a president in Iran that is not going to lead that country into war.” The comments come as U.S. military operations and Iranian retaliatory strikes continue to escalate across the region.
Separately, Trump downplayed reports that American intelligence agencies believe Russia may have provided Iran with information about U.S. military targets in the Middle East. While stopping short of confirming the reports, he suggested that any such assistance would have had little impact on the conflict so far.
“If you take a look at what’s happened to Iran in the last week, if they’re getting information, it’s not helping them much,” Trump told reporters. He also dismissed concerns about how potential Russian assistance to Iran might affect relations between Washington and Moscow, noting that countries often accuse each other of similar intelligence cooperation during conflicts.
