US First Lady Melania Trump drew widespread attention on Wednesday when she greeted a humanoid robot during a White House event. The encounter occurred at the Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition Summit, where Melania welcomed representatives from over 40 countries alongside the US-built robot, named Figure 03.

The robot, developed by Silicon Valley-based company Figure AI, addressed attendees in 11 languages, emphasizing the importance of technology in education. Melania responded lightheartedly, noting that Figure 03 was her “first American-made humanoid guest in the White House.” She highlighted the potential for humanoid robots to deliver personalized instruction in classical studies, mathematics, and other subjects, adapting lessons to students’ learning pace and emotional state.

Figure 03, introduced in October of last year as the third-generation humanoid, operates using an AI engine called Helix. The robot is capable of performing tasks autonomously and is priced at approximately $25,000. Its appearance at the summit underscored the growing intersection of artificial intelligence, robotics, and education.

In her remarks, Melania emphasized the importance of global partnerships in advancing education and technology. She praised the assembly of AI innovators and tech leaders, including OpenAI, Palantir, xAI, as well as platforms like Google and Meta, highlighting the unique concentration of expertise gathered at the summit.

“Leaders: harness it to elevate your children, to empower your people, and to accelerate your economies,” she urged, framing technology as a tool for global development. The event showcased the potential of AI and robotics to shape future education while reinforcing the United States’ role in fostering innovation and international collaboration.

By integrating humanoid robotics into discussions on education, the summit highlighted the emerging trend of AI-driven personalized learning, positioning robots like Figure 03 as part of the next generation of educational tools.
