The Karnataka unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday launched its 'SIR Maha Samparka Abhiyan', a statewide outreach campaign aimed at assisting voters during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The party unveiled the campaign's logo and poster at its state headquarters, Jagannath Bhavan, in Bengaluru, announcing that BJP workers will conduct household visits across Karnataka on July 25 and 26 to spread awareness about the voter enumeration process.

SIR campaign convenor and BJP Cells State Coordinator S. Dattatri said party workers would visit homes to explain the electoral roll revision process, address voter concerns, and assist citizens in filling and submitting enumeration forms through Booth Level Agent (BLA)-2 representatives. He said the campaign aims to reduce confusion among voters and ensure that eligible citizens complete the required procedures during the revision exercise.

Under the campaign plan, BJP has instructed key party workers to visit at least 20 households as part of the outreach programme. Dattatri said workers have been asked to cover around 10 houses daily and spend nearly 50 minutes interacting with residents. During these meetings, they will explain the next steps after the publication of the draft electoral roll and provide information about documents that may be required by the Election Commission.

Dattatri said BJP has been preparing for the SIR exercise for the past six months by training party office-bearers and workers across the state. He added that mapping activities have already been completed and workers have been instructed to coordinate with BLA-2 representatives regarding form submissions. The party has also appointed one coordinator for each Assembly constituency to supervise SIR-related activities and ensure smooth implementation.

The BJP leader said the campaign is focused on addressing concerns among voters, as many people remain uncertain about the enumeration forms and related procedures. He said the party's objective is to provide accurate information and support citizens during the process. According to him, elected representatives, former MLAs, former Zilla Panchayat members, and former Legislative Council members will also participate in the outreach initiative.

Dattatri said the BJP has appointed around 56,000 BLA-2 representatives across Karnataka's 224 Assembly constituencies and submitted their details to the Election Commission. He noted that the state has 59,050 polling stations, with the maximum possible number of BLA-2 appointments linked to the number of polling booths. BJP leaders, including State General Secretary P. Rajeev, SIR campaign co-convenor Shyamala H.S., and Mahila Morcha State Office Secretary Rajani Pai, were present during the campaign announcement.
