Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it carried out a strike targeting a US airbase in Qatar, describing the action as retaliation following overnight US strikes on Iran. The IRGC claimed that the operation was aimed at “punishing the aggressor” and targeted US military facilities at Al Udeid Air Base.
In a statement issued on Friday, the IRGC said its Aerospace Force conducted a “heavy and surprise attack” on the US base. The organisation claimed that US radar systems and military aircraft were among the targets of the operation, though independent verification of the damage or impact was not immediately available.
The reported strike follows heightened tensions between Iran and the United States after Washington carried out overnight attacks on Iranian positions. Iran has described the latest action as a retaliatory response, while the developments have raised concerns over further escalation in the region.

Al Udeid Air Base is one of the largest US military facilities in the Middle East and serves as a key hub for American operations in the region. Any attack involving the base has the potential to increase security concerns among regional countries and international partners.
The latest exchange marks another significant escalation in US-Iran tensions, with both sides accusing each other of aggressive actions. Further developments are expected as authorities assess the impact of the reported strike and the broader consequences for regional security.
