British prosecutors have charged controversial influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate with rape, human trafficking, and other serious offenses, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed on Wednesday.
The charges, authorized in January 2024 but publicly disclosed for the first time, stem from allegations dating back to 2012–2015, investigated by Bedfordshire Police.
Andrew Tate, 38, faces 10 charges, including rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for gain, linked to three women. Tristan Tate, 36, faces 11 charges, including rape, human trafficking, and actual bodily harm, related to one woman.

The CPS emphasized that the brothers, dual US-UK citizens, are entitled to a fair trial and urged restraint in public commentary to avoid prejudicing the case.
The Tates, former kickboxers turned social media personalities, have amassed millions of followers, with Andrew known for his provocative misogynistic rhetoric and displays of wealth. They were arrested in Romania in December 2022, facing separate charges of rape, human trafficking, and forming a criminal gang to exploit women.
A Romanian court has approved their extradition to the UK, but only after their ongoing case in Romania concludes.
The brothers, who relocated to Romania in 2016, deny all allegations in both countries. Their spokesperson offered no immediate comment, but Andrew Tate recently posted on X, dismissing the UK charges as baseless and accusing authorities of targeting men who “fight against them.”
They were recently photographed outside a police station in Voluntari, Romania, where they must report regularly.
The charges add to the Tates’ mounting legal woes, including a civil lawsuit in the UK by three women alleging rape and abuse, and a criminal investigation in Florida.
