Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has expressed his readiness to mediate between the United States and Iran following recent US strikes against Iranian targets, the country’s foreign ministry said on Saturday. In an official statement posted on X, the ministry called on all parties to exercise restraint and prioritize dialogue and diplomacy. “Indonesia calls on all parties to exercise restraint and to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy,” the statement read.

President Subianto further indicated that, should both sides agree, he is prepared to travel to Tehran to personally mediate talks. This move underscores Indonesia’s longstanding diplomatic stance of encouraging negotiation and peaceful resolution of international conflicts.
Indonesia has previously maintained a neutral position in Middle Eastern tensions, focusing on dialogue, humanitarian aid, and international diplomacy. The announcement highlights Jakarta’s intention to play a constructive role amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran.
While no immediate responses from the United States or Iran have been reported, analysts say Indonesia’s offer reflects a broader effort by Southeast Asian nations to engage in global peace initiatives. Officials in Jakarta have signaled that they will continue to monitor the situation closely and coordinate with international partners to prevent further escalation.
