An Indian-origin engineer couple has donated USD 20 million to the University of North Texas (UNT) to support the establishment of a new college focused on artificial intelligence and advanced analytics. The university announced that the institution will be named the Anuradha and Vikas Sinha College of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics in recognition of the couple’s contribution. The donation is expected to support the university’s efforts to expand education and research in rapidly developing technology fields.
The new college will focus on artificial intelligence and advanced analytics, areas that are increasingly influencing industries, workplaces and academic research. According to the university, the initiative will create new opportunities for students and faculty to build, study and apply emerging technologies. The institution is expected to strengthen UNT’s academic offerings while providing students with greater opportunities to develop skills relevant to a changing technology-driven economy.
UNT President Harrison Keller welcomed the contribution from Anuradha and Vikas Sinha, saying their commitment would support several of the university’s long-term priorities. Keller said the donation would allow students and faculty to work with and study technologies that are reshaping the labour market. He also linked the initiative to the university’s “Look North: UNT 2030” strategic plan, which includes preparing students for changes in employment, accelerating interdisciplinary research and innovation, and creating lasting value for North Texas and the state.

The university said the couple’s contribution would help advance opportunities across both education and research. Artificial intelligence and advanced analytics have become important areas of study as organisations increasingly use data-driven systems and automated technologies in areas ranging from business to scientific research. By establishing a dedicated college, UNT aims to provide a broader academic platform for students and faculty working in these fields. The initiative will also encourage collaboration across disciplines as researchers and educators examine the development and application of emerging technologies.
The naming of the college after the Sinhas reflects the scale of their contribution and their stated commitment to supporting technological education. The USD 20 million donation represents a major philanthropic investment in UNT and is intended to help the university develop its capabilities in artificial intelligence and advanced analytics. The university’s announcement highlighted the potential benefits for both students and faculty, particularly as demand grows for expertise in technologies that are changing workplaces and industries.
The new college is also expected to contribute to UNT’s wider role in research and innovation in North Texas. Keller said the contribution would help the university pursue its strategic objectives by strengthening interdisciplinary research and preparing students for a changing labour market. The initiative comes as universities across the United States continue to expand academic programmes and research focused on artificial intelligence, data analysis and other emerging technologies. For UNT, the establishment of the Anuradha and Vikas Sinha College of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics marks a significant investment in these areas and adds a new institution to its academic structure.
