Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel held meetings with senior representatives of JPMorgan, Tillman Global Holdings, Uber and Golub Capital in New York as part of his ongoing visit to the United States and Canada. The discussions focused on investment opportunities, financial services, digital infrastructure, urban mobility and advanced technologies. Patel also visited IBM Research, where potential collaboration in artificial intelligence, quantum computing and semiconductor research was discussed.
During his meeting with JPMorgan, Patel discussed the development of Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) as an international financial centre. JPMorgan reaffirmed its commitment to GIFT City and outlined plans to deepen its presence and expand business operations there. The discussions come amid Gujarat’s efforts to attract more global financial institutions to the financial hub and strengthen its position as an international platform.
Patel also met Jerry Keefe, Co-President of Golub Capital, with discussions focusing on potential investment in GIFT City. The company also expressed interest in connecting global players associated with banking, insurance and exchange activities with the GIFT City platform. Separately, discussions with Tillman Global Holdings founder and chairman Sanjeev Ahuja focused on Gujarat’s data centre sector, with Dholera identified as a potential hub for next-generation digital infrastructure.

The meeting with Uber focused on expanding mobility and transport connectivity in Gujarat’s Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. The company expressed interest in strengthening its presence across smaller and medium-sized urban centres and exploring partnership opportunities linked to major sporting events in the state. The discussions formed part of broader efforts to improve connectivity and encourage technology-enabled mobility solutions beyond Gujarat’s major cities.
At IBM Research in Yorktown Heights, Patel and his delegation were briefed on research and innovation in artificial intelligence, quantum computing and semiconductors. The discussions explored opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing and research partnerships aimed at strengthening Gujarat’s capabilities in advanced technologies. The engagements also align with the state’s focus on emerging sectors such as AI, semiconductors, data centres and biotechnology.
Patel’s New York meetings are part of Gujarat’s international outreach ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027. The state government is seeking to attract global investors, technology companies and industry leaders while building partnerships in finance, digital infrastructure, mobility and advanced research. The latest engagements have placed GIFT City and Dholera alongside AI, quantum computing and semiconductor research as key areas for potential investment and collaboration.
