French President Emmanuel Macron is set to visit India from February 17 to 19, marking another milestone in India-France bilateral relations. The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed the visit on Tuesday, highlighting that Macron will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss strategic cooperation across multiple areas. This visit follows PM Modi’s trip to France last year in February, continuing the high-level engagement between the two nations.
During the visit, the two leaders are expected to deliberate on the Horizon 2047 Roadmap, a 25-year strategic blueprint designed to guide India-France relations until the centenary of India’s independence in 2047. The discussions will focus on areas such as technology, defense, sustainability, and trade, emphasizing long-term collaboration.
Macron and Modi will also address regional and global issues, including cooperation in the Indo-Pacific, signaling a shared interest in maintaining stability and fostering partnerships in the region. Analysts see this dialogue as crucial for strengthening both countries’ influence in geopolitical matters.

A highlight of the visit will be the joint inauguration of the India-France Year of Innovation, a year-long initiative promoting cutting-edge technology, sustainable development, and cultural exchange. This initiative aims to deepen cooperation between the two nations in emerging fields like artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and digital transformation.
Additionally, Macron will participate in the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, a key platform for discussing advancements in artificial intelligence and its societal impact. The summit also reflects the ongoing collaboration between India and France in technology-driven initiatives, following their joint co-chairing of the AI summit in Paris last year.
Officials have noted that the visit will reinforce the strategic partnership and enhance people-to-people ties, positioning India and France as leaders in innovation and diplomacy. With multiple high-profile events planned, Macron’s visit is expected to leave a significant mark on bilateral relations and technological cooperation.
