A chaotic brawl at a Domino's Pizza in Glassboro escalated into an assault on police early Sunday, with surveillance video capturing two suspects hurling a chair at an officer's head. The Glassboro Police Department responded to reports of a large fight around 2:44 a.m. on November 2, arriving to find patrons in Halloween attire standing on tables, shouting, and filming the mayhem. As officers attempted arrests amid the frenzy, the suspects—described as a Black male in a grey jacket and another in a light blue sweatshirt—grabbed a red chair, laughed hysterically, and launched it, striking one officer from behind before fleeing.
The injured officer received on-scene treatment for head trauma and is expected to make a full recovery, authorities confirmed. No other serious injuries were reported, though the incident disrupted the late-night crowd, many recording on phones as chaos unfolded. Police posted the footage on Facebook, urging the public to help identify the assailants, emphasising the attack's intentional nature. "We need your help in identifying them," the department stated, releasing still images from the video.
This Halloween weekend violence highlights rising concerns over public altercations in New Jersey's boroughs, where alcohol-fuelled disputes often spill into assaults on first responders. Glassboro, a college town home to Rowan University, sees seasonal spikes in such incidents, prompting enhanced patrols. The suspects face potential charges of aggravated assault on law enforcement, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct if apprehended.

Community tips are flooding in via anonymous lines, with police vowing swift justice to deter copycats. Domino's management cooperated fully, providing unedited footage that has gone viral online. As investigations continue with witness interviews, this case underscores the risks officers face in de-escalating crowded venues, reinforcing calls for stricter penalties on attacks against public servants.
