A major reshuffle of the Union Council of Ministers is likely to take place ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, with parallel organisational changes expected within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), according to sources cited by news agency PTI. The proposed exercise is expected to include ministerial exits, fresh inductions and portfolio adjustments, alongside the announcement of a new party organisational structure under BJP president Nitin Nabin.
Sources familiar with the deliberations said the reshuffle discussions are at an advanced stage, with the party leadership reportedly finalising key decisions. The exercise is being viewed as part of a broader effort to recalibrate both the government and organisational framework ahead of the upcoming parliamentary session. The leadership is expected to balance administrative requirements with political considerations, including representation, performance evaluation and regional equations.
On the organisational side, the BJP is preparing to unveil what is being referred to as “Team Nitin Nabin”, marking the first major restructuring under the newly appointed party president. According to sources, the list of office-bearers has largely been finalised, and a formal announcement is expected soon. The new team is likely to feature a significant number of younger leaders, signalling an attempt by the party to inject fresh energy into its organisational structure and strengthen its grassroots outreach.

As part of the broader realignment, consultations have reportedly taken place between BJP leadership and several Union Ministers of State in recent days. Sources indicated that some ministers may be moved from government roles to organisational responsibilities within the party, while certain party office-bearers could be inducted into the Union Council of Ministers. This potential exchange between organisational and governmental roles is seen as part of the BJP’s established practice of rotating responsibilities to maintain internal balance and performance efficiency.
Speculation has also intensified regarding possible portfolio changes for some ministers. In particular, uncertainty has been reported around the position of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, amid controversies linked to his ministry, including allegations related to the NEET examination paper leak and irregularities in the CBSE digital marking system, according to sources. However, no official confirmation has been issued regarding any individual ministerial changes, and the final decisions are expected to be announced only after approval from the party’s top leadership and the Prime Minister.
If implemented, the reshuffle would mark one of the most significant administrative and organisational overhauls since the formation of the current government. Analysts view the timing as strategically important, given that it precedes the Monsoon Session of Parliament, where the government is expected to face key legislative and political challenges. The proposed changes are also seen as an effort to streamline governance, strengthen organisational coordination and reposition the party for upcoming political and electoral priorities.
