The Vande Bharat Express operating on the Mumbai–Solapur route derailed at Pune railway station on Tuesday, prompting an immediate response from railway authorities and emergency teams.According to initial reports, a few coaches of the train slipped off the tracks while entering the platform area at low speed. Officials said the incident occurred within station limits, which helped prevent a more serious outcome. Passengers onboard reported a sudden jolt, leading to brief panic, though many were quickly reassured by railway staff.
Railway authorities confirmed that no major injuries or fatalities have been reported so far. Medical teams were deployed as a precaution, and passengers were safely evacuated from the affected coaches. Officials are continuing to assess the situation to ensure that all travelers are accounted for and provided assistance where needed.
Senior officials from Indian Railways reached the site to oversee restoration work and initiate an inquiry into the cause of the derailment. Preliminary assessments suggest a possible technical or track-related issue, though a detailed investigation has been ordered to determine the exact reason.
