A horrific incident has rocked Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj district, where a 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by eight men near the Nadrai Aqueduct on the Hazara Canal.
The victim, who had visited the popular picnic spot with her fiancé, was reportedly dragged into a room by the accused while her fiancé was brutally beaten and threatened outside. According to police reports, the assailants took turns raping the girl, filming the assault, and looting her belongings.
The sheer brutality of the crime, committed in broad daylight, has sparked outrage and disbelief. How such an act could unfold at a public spot raises chilling questions about safety and law enforcement in the area. The accused’s audacity—carrying out the attack while intimidating the victim’s fiancé—underscores a disturbing sense of impunity.

Police have arrested five suspects, identified as Akhilesh Pratap Singh, Amit Kumar, Rinku, Ajay Kumar, and Saurabh, with a manhunt underway for the remaining three.
Social media posts and certain reports claim that one accused, Akhilesh Pratap Singh, is a BJP member, reportedly close to local BJP MLA Devendra Singh. These sources cite Singh’s alleged role as a BJP Yuva Neta and images of a car bearing a BJP flag. However, mainstream news outlets have not consistently confirmed these affiliations, and official police statements remain silent on any political links. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities focused on apprehending all suspects and ensuring justice.
