Teachers across schools in Uttar Pradesh will now be required to complete 10 sensitisation videos before screening children under the Prashast 2.0 initiative. The move aims to ensure that teachers are adequately prepared to understand the educational needs of Gen Alpha students and identify children who may require additional academic or other forms of support.

The videos have been introduced as part of the state's effort to create a more consistent approach to student screening. Teachers will be expected to watch all 10 modules before beginning the process, allowing them to understand the purpose of the screening and the appropriate procedures to follow while assessing students.

Together, the videos run for around 40 minutes and cover key aspects of the Prashast 2.0 initiative. The training is intended to familiarise teachers with the characteristics and educational requirements of children from the Gen Alpha generation, while also helping them recognise situations in which a student may need additional support within the school environment.

The sensitisation material also explains how the screening process should be conducted. Teachers will receive guidance on identifying students' educational requirements and understanding the indicators that may warrant further attention. The initiative places teachers at the centre of the identification process, making their preparation an important part of the programme. By requiring the videos to be completed beforehand, authorities aim to ensure that educators approach student screening with a common understanding of the process. The training can also help teachers respond more appropriately to different learning requirements among students.

The mandatory sensitisation programme is part of Uttar Pradesh's broader effort to strengthen support systems in schools through Prashast 2.0. With teachers required to complete the videos before screening children, the state hopes to establish a more uniform process for identifying educational needs and determining the support students may require.
