Punjab Police on Tuesday successfully foiled a targeted killing attempt in Bathinda with the arrest of three individuals allegedly associated with the notorious Arsh Dalla gang. The operation was carried out by the Counter Intelligence unit in coordination with local police, preventing a potential act of violence in the city.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Kuldeep Singh of Gill Patti, Bathinda, currently residing in Canada; Gurwinder Singh of Kotshamir village; and Gagandeep Singh of Bhokhra village. Police recovered four pistols, four magazines, 26 live cartridges, and an unregistered car from the accused.
Among the seized weapons were a Glock pistol, a Zigana pistol, a .30 bore pistol, and a .32 bore pistol. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav confirmed that preliminary investigation suggested Kuldeep Singh had recently returned from Canada to carry out the planned attack, highlighting the international dimension of the plot.

Senior Superintendent of Police Bathinda, Amneet Kondal, stated that during interrogation, the accused revealed their involvement in an ongoing gang rivalry. She added that a formal case has been registered at Thermal police station, and the investigation is continuing to uncover both backward and forward linkages.
Assistant Inspector General, Counter Intelligence Bathinda, Avneet Kaur Sidhu, said the arrests were made following specific intelligence inputs during naka checking on Goniana Road near Sucha Singh Nagar. The swift action prevented the targeted killing and ensured public safety.
Police confirmed that the case has been registered under Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act. Authorities emphasized continued vigilance and intensified efforts to dismantle gang networks operating in the region.
