Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav revealed that Amritsar rural police, acting on precise intelligence, conducted the operations, one in collaboration with the Border Security Force (BSF).
The joint operation led to the apprehension of two smugglers from Dande village on Attari-Dande road on Tuesday evening, with five pistols and magazines recovered. The other operation targeted additional suspects, resulting in further seizures. FIRs have been filed at Gharinda police station, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the smuggling network and its connections.
A BSF official confirmed the joint effort’s success, highlighting the critical role of intelligence in intercepting the smugglers. Authorities are committed to dismantling such illegal operations to ensure regional security.
