A man has been arrested in Bengaluru on charges of alleged voyeurism after a 23-year-old woman accused him of attempting to secretly record her while she was bathing inside her residence. The incident was reported from the Garudacharpalya area under the jurisdiction of the Mahadevapura police station, according to officials.
Police said the incident occurred on April 29 between 9:30 pm and 9:40 pm, when the woman reportedly noticed an unidentified individual using a mobile phone to record video while she was inside the bathroom of her home. The woman immediately raised an alarm after realizing what was happening, prompting the accused to flee from the spot.
Following the incident, the victim approached the Mahadevapura police and filed a formal complaint, stating that the act caused her severe mental distress and fear. Based on her statement, police registered a case under relevant sections related to voyeurism and initiated an investigation into the matter.

Authorities said that acting on the complaint and subsequent inquiry, the accused has since been taken into custody. He is currently being questioned to determine the circumstances of the incident and whether he may have been involved in similar offences in the past.
Police officials added that further investigation is underway to collect evidence and verify the sequence of events leading up to the alleged act. They also stated that the case is being treated with seriousness given the sensitive nature of the complaint and the violation of privacy involved. The incident has raised concerns over women’s safety and privacy in residential areas, with law enforcement reiterating that strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty of such offences under the law.
