Prime Minister Narendra Modi is embarking on a significant diplomatic tour to three nations—Jordan, Ethiopia, and Oman—from December 15 to 18, 2025, aimed at bolstering trade, defence cooperation, and regional stability. The four-day itinerary reflects India's proactive engagement with key partners in West Asia and Africa, emphasising shared priorities within the Global South and fostering multifaceted bilateral partnerships.
The tour begins in Jordan on December 15-16, at the invitation of King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein. This marks Modi's first full bilateral visit to the Hashemite Kingdom, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Discussions will focus on reviewing bilateral ties, exploring new economic opportunities, and exchanging views on regional issues, while reaffirming India's commitment to peace and security in the region.
Modi will then travel to Ethiopia for a state visit on December 16-17, his inaugural trip to the East African nation, at the invitation of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali. The engagement will cover the full spectrum of India-Ethiopia relations, highlighting mutual interests as Global South partners and advancing cooperation in trade, investment, development, and friendship.

The final leg takes the Prime Minister to Oman on December 17-18, his second visit to the Sultanate, following an invitation from Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. Celebrating 70 years of diplomatic ties, the visit builds on a comprehensive strategic partnership rooted in historical connections and strong people-to-people links.
Expected outcomes include potential advancements in economic agreements, such as progress toward a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with Oman, alongside deepened collaboration in energy, security, technology, and culture. This tour underscores India's strategic outreach, promoting mutual growth, regional harmony, and enhanced global cooperation amid evolving geopolitical dynamics.
