A disturbing new video has surfaced showing a man clinging to a moving car during a violent chase involving a family of tourists who were allegedly attacked after objecting to the sexual harassment of a woman at the Bhavli Dam and waterfall area in Maharashtra's Nashik district. The incident, which occurred during a family outing on Sunday, has sparked widespread concern after the victims alleged they were chased for nearly 20 kilometres by a group of men armed with sticks and iron rods.
According to the family's complaint, eight members of the family had visited the popular tourist destination when a group of men allegedly began sexually harassing one of the women. When her husband confronted them, the situation escalated into violence. The accused allegedly assaulted the family, damaged their vehicle and pursued them as they attempted to flee. The newly emerged video shows the family's car with shattered windows while one of the accused hangs onto the rear window before falling onto the road and signalling to others chasing the vehicle on motorcycles.
Speaking about the incident, the survivor said the family had completed their picnic and was preparing to leave when two men allegedly called out to her and began harassing her. After her family objected, more men, including individuals allegedly operating nearby food stalls, joined the confrontation. She said the group verbally abused the family before launching the attack, leaving them with little option but to try to escape in their vehicle.

The survivor further alleged that the attackers blocked the family's car and repeatedly struck it with sticks and iron rods before chasing them for nearly 20 kilometres. She said the vehicle was extensively damaged during the pursuit and described the ordeal as terrifying, adding that the family feared for their lives throughout the chase. Four children were inside the car at the time of the attack, making the incident even more traumatic for the victims.
Following the complaint, the Igatpuri Police launched an investigation and arrested nine accused in connection with the case. Police said one of those arrested has previously been booked in a murder case. Investigators are currently questioning the accused to determine the sequence of events and establish the role played by each individual during the alleged assault and pursuit.
The incident has raised fresh concerns over the safety of tourists at popular destinations and the need for stronger security measures in crowded recreational areas. Authorities continue to investigate the case, while the viral video is expected to form an important part of the evidence. Police have assured that appropriate legal action will be taken against those found responsible as the investigation progresses.
