The Bhopal Police have intensified their investigation into the death of actress and former model Twisha Sharma by increasing the reward for information leading to the arrest of her absconding husband, Samarth Singh, from Rs 10,000 to Rs 30,000. Singh, who has been charged in connection with an alleged dowry death case, remains untraceable despite an ongoing manhunt and a lookout notice issued against him.
Police Commissioner Sanjay Singh said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe the case from all possible angles. According to preliminary findings, investigators suspect that Sharma died by suicide, with marks found on her neck reportedly appearing consistent with hanging using a belt. Officials, however, said the investigation remains open and all evidence is being examined carefully.
The case has drawn widespread public attention, with Sharma’s family continuing to raise questions over the circumstances surrounding her death. Authorities have stated that multiple teams are working to locate Samarth Singh, while technical and forensic evidence is also being scrutinised as part of the investigation.

Meanwhile, a Bhopal court has rejected a plea seeking a second post-mortem examination outside Madhya Pradesh. Judge Anudit Sharma observed that granting permission for a second autopsy in another state was beyond the court’s jurisdiction. However, the court directed the Station House Officer of Katara Hills Police Station to ensure proper preservation of the body in a suitable mortuary facility.
The court noted that the AIIMS Bhopal mortuary, where Sharma’s body is currently being kept, can preserve remains at minus 4 degrees Celsius for only four to five days. It further observed that preservation for a longer duration would require storage at minus 80 degrees Celsius to prevent decomposition and maintain forensic integrity.
Following the court’s decision, members of Twisha Sharma’s family said they plan to move the High Court for further legal relief. The case continues to generate significant attention in Madhya Pradesh, with demands for a thorough and transparent investigation into the actress’s death.
