Maharashtra police seized ketamine worth Rs 88.92 crore from a drug manufacturing unit in Jite village, Mahad MIDC, Raigad district, on Wednesday, an official reported.
Acting on a tip-off, the raid was conducted with support from Mumbai police’s Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC), leading to the confiscation of the illegal consignment. Four individuals—Machhindra Bhosle, Sushant Patil, Shubham Sutar, and Rohan Gawas—were arrested for their alleged involvement in producing the drug.
Ketamine, primarily an anaesthetic, is often misused for its hallucinogenic effects. The accused face charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The police are continuing their investigation to uncover further details about the operation.
